Pet Healthcare Clinics
The Links Veterinary Group is proud of the development of several clinics which have arisen in an attempt to promote a more broadbased approach to the management of common conditions which affect our pet population.
Providing improved quality of life
These clinics rotate around regular appointments at any of our surgeries where a closer relationship with one of our vets can allow a more detailed and effective management plan to be drawn up.
This will lead to improved quality of life for your pet and improved detection of problems before they become unmanageable.
Please use at the links to the left for a breakdown of clinics offered and to find out more about: Weightloss, and Mobility and Pain.
Call us on 01620 622262 or Contact us online now to make an appointment at a surgery near you.
We also have good relationships with locally based specialists in various fields specifically running the following clinics:
1. Dermatology Clinic
Our very popular dermatitis clinics are run from our Haddington surgery usually every second week and allow complete work up and diagnosis of the most difficult and frustrating skin cases by Dr Marcel Kovalik our consultant veterinary dermatologist.
Marcel's workload consists of pets with a multitude of different skin conditions most commonly due to allergies but along with autoimmune conditions, parasitic infections and skin tumours.
In addition Marcel has proved invaluable in helping dogs with chronic ear infections which hav proved difficult to control by standard means.
2. Cardio-respiratory Clinic
Started in 2011 a visiting specialist in cardiac and respiratory disease in dogs and cats will discuss your pet's problems and will have access to modern diagnostic equipment usually involving digital XRays, endoscopy and echo-cardiography in order to reach the most accurate diagnosis. This will enable treatment to be started and response monitored in the most controlled way.
Many conditions may be referred to the cardio-respiratory specialist including severe heart disease, non responsive coughing and miscellaneous conditions such as collapsing at exrcise with no readily apparent cause.
3. Gastro-enterology Clinic
From January 2012 we are very excited to have Professor Jimmy Simpson visit the practice to help with the more demanding cases of diseases affecting the gastrointestinal tract. This may be recurrent vomiting, weight loss, abdominal pain, diarrhoea or abdominal masses.
Professor Simpson is a very highly regarded specialist in this field and we are delighted to be able to offer his services in this manner. These clinics are again based in the Haddington surgery.
