The Links Veterinary Group has working relationships with both local and national businesses who are highly regarded and trusted in their relevent fields. These include the Duncrahill Stud here in East Lothain and Hills Pet Nutrition, world leaders in feeding dogs and cats both in health and when unfortunately disease dictates specific feeding regimes.
Also shown here are miscellaneous links showing some information with regards our vaccination policy and the use of identification microchips in our pets.
Links Vaccination Policy
http://www.future-of-vaccination.co.uk
The Links Vet Group has a policy of strongly recommending routine vaccination for all our dog, cat and rabbit patients. Initial vaccination should be given from as young as 6 weeks of age, with a second injection given a few weeks later. Therafter, annual boosters are given, which also provide a useful opportunity for our vets to conduct a full clinical examination as part of a routine health check.
Early immunisation against life threatening infectious pet diseases saves many lives. Puppies and kittens are particularly susceptible to disease and should be vaccinated to ensure their health and survival, and boost their natural immunity.
Here at The Links Vet Group we use the market leader in companion animal vaccinations in the UK. Intervet has pioneered an approach to pet vaccination that minimises the number of vaccinations required and defines them into two categories - core and non-core. Core vaccinations should be given to every pet, and non-core vaccinations to those animals that have a lifestyle that puts them at particular risk for certain diseases.
More on this is explained throughout the linked website.
Routine Worming Treatments
http://www.stopwormsdead.co.uk
The Links Vet Group has a policy of advising routine preventative worm treatments for all our dog, cat and rabbit patients.
Worms pose a threat to the health of your pet and to human health, particularly to children.
We promote the routine use of the UK’s leading veterinary worm range, from Bayer. This website gives further information for pet owners about dog and cat worms.
